Assisted Living Assisted living at Wheatfields is designed for senior adults who wish to maintain their independent lifestyle but may need some additional assistance to do so. Basic Services include: 3 nutritious meals served daily 24-hour specially-trained on-site staff Engaging activities Apartment maintenance Weekly housekeeping and linen service Scheduled transportation All utilities paid (phone and cable may not be included) Emergency call systems in each apartment Modern fire detection systems Personal Assistance Services In addition to the Basic Services, additional levels of Personal Assistance are available and tailored to meet each resident's specific needs. Residents will be assessed prior to move-in and regularly thereafter, to determine which level of care is needed. Additional charges apply based on the Personal Assistance services provided. We are dedicated to our life engagement philosophy of social, psychological, spiritual and physical well-being of every individual. This dedication is reflected in every effort our community makes in caring for residents who have been diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease or other related dementias. Our intent is to allow each resident to function independently at their level of ability, while providing care and assistance where needed. Our Life Engagement programs are developed around each person's specific interests, abilities, past history and routine. Engagements flow throughout each day to promote cognitive, sensory, creative and physical skills. The Importance of Pets We all know how important pets are to our lives. We don’t have to examine studies by physicians and scientists to know that when we spend time loving our pets we feel better! Pets are loyal and lovable, and offer us unconditional devotion. They bring out our instincts for nurturing; we feel needed and relied upon. Our stress levels decrease, we feel accepted just as we are with no judgments. It is often one of the most valued relationships a person can have. While we as individuals may feel a variety of emotions, pets don’t have mood swings or meltdowns. They allow us to hold, stroke, groom, or just play with them, and are very good listeners! For most pet owners, the relaxation our animals provide us by just being there as our friend, enriches our daily life and allows us to go on with the tasks of living. Because we at Wheatfields value this time-tested connection people have with their pets, we invite you to have your small pet live with you at our community. We want you to smile, laugh, and feel good! We accept most small pets, and have minimal deposit requirements to make the necessary accommodations. Welcome home - to you, and your pet! Our Environment Wheatfields has developed a unique environment with a distinctive approach. The colors, lighting, patterns, and furnishings enhance the resident's experience. Our community is designed to encourage social interaction and involvement. The walkways, both indoors and out, are continuous. All of this creates a community that promotes life engagement. Memory Care Basic Services Include: Life Engagement program 24-hour specially-trained supervision Three meals and snacks Housekeeping and linen service All utilities paid (Phone and Cable TV may not be included) Additional services offered in Personal Assistance Plan: Personal laundry Health monitoring Scheduled transportation Modified diets Assistance with personal hygiene, bathing and dressing And much more A Community of Care and Support The Resident Care Team, including the Administrator and Nurse, oversees the care and services provided by the specially-trained Resident Assistants. Apartments are rented on a monthly basis. No buy-in or lease fees are required. Our apartments are fully carpeted, with individual climate control and emergency call systems.
