Assisted Living at its Best Assisted living at its best is what Prairie Lodge provides. Everyone receives the basic services of meals, housekeeping, activities and help with arranging for medical transportation. If there is need for medication reminders, dispensing of medication, help with ambulation, or additional personal needs, the services are available. Prairie Lodge is affordable because you pay only for the services you need. If the resident needs just a little help with housekeeping and meals, that is what they are charged for. If the needs increase and more help is needed, the services are provided at modest additional charges based on our easy to understand system. It is designed to allow people to live as independently as possible, but to also have the peace of mind that comes from knowing that a caring person is available 24 hours a day to give assistance with daily living activities or emergencies. Our special needs cottage environment is specifically designed to accommodate the person suffering with Alzheimer's disease. A program of activities that allow the resident to use remaining abilities and be successful is the mainstay of our special needs cottage. A high ratio of staff to residents allows this intensive care program to be successful. Summit House at Prairie Lodge For older adults who are living with dementia accompanied by unique behaviors, finding appropriate housing options can be a difficult endeavor. A specialized assisted living environment has been created at Prairie Lodge in Brooklyn Center to address the special needs of individuals whose behavioral health issues can't be managed within traditional assisted living or memory care settings. Summit House at Prairie Lodge offers a secure environment designed to accommodate 14 residents, each with his/her own private suite and private bathroom. Staffed with a 5/1 resident-to-staff ratio, residents receive the care and attention they need. An individualized approach is taken with each resident to promote optimal independence by emphasizing abilities rather than disabilities. In addition, each caregiver has been carefully screened and trained to work with this special population, and training is an ongoing component towards achieving successful outcomes About us Prairie Lodge is owned and operated by Ecumen.
