Welcome to The Margaret T. Morris Center The Margaret T. Morris Center (MTM) Assisted Living Dedicated to Memory Care, opened in beautiful Prescott, Arizona in 1999. MTM provides a secure residential setting in which people with Alzheimer's disease, memory loss and other dementias live with dignity and respect through every stage of their illness. Your family's well-being is our greatest concern and we are committed to providing a safe, comfortable and nurturing community for all whom we serve. About Us The Margaret T. Morris Center is a subsidiary of the non-profit organization Adult Care Services, Inc. (ACS). ACS is locally owned and has now been in operation for 24 years in the Prescott, Arizona community. In addition, ACS is also the parent corporation to The Centers Adult Day Services of Prescott and Prescott Valley. It was from the day center experience, that Adult Care Services recognized an alternative to the nursing home setting for people with Alzheimer's and dementias. Our Neighborhoods In its tranquility and elegance, The Margaret T. Morris Center is arranged into four living areas called "Neighborhoods." Each neighborhood is designed to have seven total suites which may be either semi-private or private in design. Residents are encouraged to bring pictures and mementoes to decorate their suite. Each neighborhood has its own sitting room, and dining room. In addition to our neighborhoods, MTM has a variety of wonderful areas for residents and their families to engage in life. MTM's library invites exploration of new and old interests as well as private celebrations with families and friends. Our chapel is a place for reflection and renewal. The Great Room is a place where an enriched activity program celebrates the past and present joys of life. The Therapeutic Gardens return our residents to the tranquility of nature. And lastly, our Hospice Room provides a peaceful place where residents can spend their last days together with the privacy of their loved ones. Our Staff The spirit of love generated by our staff is a large part of the serenity and grace that you feel at MTM. Each member of our exceptional team is professionally trained to meet the highest standards required in the care of those with Alzheimer's and other dementias. Whether it is someone who has the early stages of dementia or is approaching end of life, we are committed to the care and well-being of each resident, ensuring, with daily health monitoring, that medications are taken as prescribed, meals are not missed and that no one is left out of health and wellness activities. Health & Wellness Quality of life as experienced through our daily Activity Program is seen as an essential component to the health & wellness of all of our residents at MTM. Dedicated Activity Personnel and our Certified Horticultural Therapist see that all of our residents are reconnected with interests from their past as well as the experiences of new joys and friends each day. Whether it's spending time in the gardens under our heirloom apple trees, watercolor painting classes, concerts in the Great Room, or outings into the community the opportunities will be endless for healthy living. Person Centered Care In addition, The Margaret T. Morris Center is also recognized as a leader in the West of the Person Centered Care philosophy. From the teachings of Dr. Tom Kitwood, our staff is part of an ongoing training in this philosophy. We believe in care partnering with each resident and becoming connected to each resident's life in efforts to know the person first and the clinical disease process second. This philosophy of care also includes an ongoing evaluation process called Dementia Care Mapping which ultimately strengthens care giver skills and better enhances the quality of care for those we serve.
